Setup

There's nothing to download to get started with Onward, the task manager for executive function. Everything else is optional.

1. 01

   Open the web app

   Go to app.onward.today and sign in with Google — currently the only sign-in method. That's it — your Tasks sync from there.

2. 02

   Install it as an app (optional)

   On mobile, open the browser menu and choose "Add to Home Screen." On desktop, click the install icon in your browser's address bar. Onward runs standalone, without the browser chrome, either way.

3. 03

   Native apps (in development)

   Android first, then iOS — the web app already works standalone in the meantime (step 02).

4. 04

   Connect an AI agent (optional)

   Onward runs an MCP server, so you can also drive it from your own AI chat client (Claude, ChatGPT, …) instead of — or alongside — the app. Add mcp.onward.today as a remote MCP server in your client and sign in with the same Google account.

   You're all set

   That's everything — jump back into Onward and start capturing what's on your mind.
